When do workshops need an immo off file?
Typically when an ECU is replaced, a key or immobiliser box is lost, or a used ECU is fitted to another vehicle and the immobiliser blocks starting.
What do you need to write an immo off file?
The original ECU read, the ECU type and number, and the vehicle details. Tell us whether the ECU is from the same vehicle or a donor.
Will the engine start without the original key?
With immo off the ECU no longer requires the immobiliser signal, so the engine can start without the original key match on supported ECUs.
Do you check the file before delivery?
Yes. Every file is written manually from your read and checked before it is returned, so you are not testing a database dump on the customer's vehicle.
